Personally, I was hoping that the trainer (and maybe Mew) would be 3D, like the SMB sets that are available as prizes. It could work if they were layered sets, or maybe a bunch of bars glued together. I dunno, your call.

Brandon wrote: They are going to be 3D, she said that already. 3d as in just an extruded flat surface as seen in the last progress pic. not curved, i'm not sure if that's what you two were thinking of. (i don't have a wii/ brawl so i'm not sure what the prizes look like)
On another note, thanks for the pokemon blue border pic mastermind, it looks pretty complicated, but i'll most likely end up doing it. my first priority will be releasing the main part and at least one border to go with it before the contest ends, however. Thanks again!

Well done! thanks, yes those folds definitely are the trouble for sprite papercrafts. i think it will probably be a little bit easier then it looks though, hopefully. sora243 wrote: when will be ready for download? if all editing goes well, hopefully you can expect it next weekend!

ahh help! it looks like this when i unfold: what?!? i'm confused, the model it perfectly clean, but when i import it, pepakura insists that there are open edges where there are not. i tried join adjacent edges before i unfolded, but it did not work. can anyone offer an explanation for this strangeness? it's setting me back a little...

Don't auto-unfold, for one; pull out a ruler and figure out how tall you want your papercraft to be. Not sure what to do for edges, though.

if you are able to take the model to metasequoia, it may help you since there's also a "join close vertices" option, but in this one, you get to choose the distance of the vertexes that will join. for example, PEP only join vertices that are apart from each other in no more than x distance, but in meta you can specify it. im not sure if SKetchUp has that option too.... i hope this helps
also, why is there an open edge in mew's nose and on the traners cap (in the middle) ??are there flat pieces that go there??
PS: you can import a skecthUp model into blender (with a plugin you need to download) and the export that to and obj file, which meta can open.

All done! now I NEED A TESTBUILDER WHO CAN PROVIDE A PICTURE! please and thank you!Lined: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?2wdtz5yznm0Lineless: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?5nv2atygignnote to anyone wanting to testbuild this: i'm sorry to leave you with so little time, but i really need a finished picture of this by the 15th of the month for this entry to be included in the contest. Also, it may look easy, but this craft actually has quite a lot of small tabs, and i highly recommend printing the lined version as well as the lineless version if you plan on doing the lineless version. it shouldn't take too long to complete for a patient papercrafter, but if you're not, you might find yourself flustered by all the cutting of the tiny tabs. please could someone take this up? i would really appreciate it. i'm sorry to sound whiny, i just would really like it to be in the running after all the work... gameboy border coming soon!

This looks sweet! I would've testbuilt, but I'm pretty busy; sorry. I'm wondering, what are the shadows behind the pictures? how does that work, aren't the boxes glued there? It looks good though, however you figured it out.

here's the deal:
i needed the completed picture of the craft for it to be a valid entry, and since a still didn't have a completed picture because i finished it pretty late leaving very little time for anyone to test build it, PMF built a sort of "simplified version" today where he didn't use the gray pieces that went around the sprites (time consuming folding) also, in version of the craft i shared, the pokeballs in the corners of the text box are attached by means of 3/4 cylinders. i'm guessing PMF compensated for this by doing a little pencil shading behind each of the parts i just mentioned.

oh, I see. From far away, it looks better, but I guess there wouldn't be a way to do that and look good up close. oh well I'll make this one eventually, if you will still need a picture. Nice Papercraft!
